In this 1.5 hour workshop, we want to create community and connection through the practice of art journaling together. This is a safe place to explore and try new art techniques using mixed materials. We will create a new art page every week. This is a very intuitive process and all levels of creativity are welcome.

Inside everyone of us is a human spark!

This spark is waiting for you to ignite it through creativity! We will create an atmosphere by being intentional using our 5 senses through various prompts and art mediums including music, sounds and spoken word. Therefore, we construct a bridge between the inner and outer worlds.

When we engage the spirit, soul and body using this process. We will begin to shape both physical and spiritual realities in to art forms.

This is 1.5 hour workshop. A Gelli Plate is a soft and pliable gel pad printing surface that makes it easy to produce beautiful, one-of-a-kind artwork with amazing colors and textures.

We will teach you techniques so you can make colorful backgrounds, textured pages, multiple layers and basic borders to use for Card making, Collage, Mixed Media, Scrapbooking and many more art forms.

We will also give you a great recipe for making your own Gelli Pad so you can continue to create your own prints at home!

Alcohol ink is a solution of dye dissolved in isopropyl alcohol ink  is known for intense,  highly saturated, translucent colors. Using alcohol inks can be a fun way to use colors and create backgrounds! You can also  use alcohol inks in painting and to add color to different surfaces such as glass and  metals. 

Alcohol inks are an acid-free, highly-pigmented, and fast drying medium to be  used on non-porous surfaces. Bring a friend and join this fun exploration with something new and different.

Just beginning? You don’t know anything about paints, brushes, canvases or color theory? Then this is the class for you! This will be a 4 hour class, with breaks. We will learn about all the necessary terminology using practical demonstrations that will equip you to explore with confidence as you learn how the paint behaves.

You will learn how to create multiple background surfaces using mediums and faux finishing textures. You will create sample canvases using these techniques that will have step-by-step instructions written on the back. They will serve as references for all your future projects. You will leave the class with the knowledge you need to purchase additional supplies and begin your path to making lifelong art for yourself and others.

The most important of the building block's in an Artist's career is the ability to interpret what they see. This class is crucial to beginner's and is beneficial to artist's of all levels. We will be learning how the two hemisphere's of our brain work together and against each other in the process of learning to really see. We will convert three dimensional objects and subjects to a flat two dimensional surface. Then, with the aid of optical illusions such as linear perspective, shading, highlights, contrast and emphasis, we will create the illusion of depth on a flat surface.

Encaustic painting or hot wax painting is an ancient art form. Learn the basics of this rich painting technique in this one day intensive course. We will learn how to embed text and fibers, layer, fuse, and do an image transfer technique. All levels of encaustic experience are welcome!
